Introductory note

This is a screen-edited version of the WP document RjforDCL.doc, reconstructed 06/02/2012 from earlier boxing records, with 1990s added. This is in the possession of both Dublin and Belfast archive managements.

It contains basically political and related material, relating to lobby-groups etc; the numbering below references the selection from the earlier general topic classification numbers:

2. Left-wing politics; marxism and the national question; the colonial to post-colonial transition;
3. Northern Ireland and the Partition process, genesis and consequences;
6. Internal politics of left and green movements; neo-marxist environmentalism.
7. Century book and associated hypertext
8. Peace movement (international)

The missing numbers in the sequence relate to topics relating the scientific and techno-economic work, listed elsewhere.

Catalyst for the Scottish Viewpoint (autumn 1968) as a folder contains an RJ draft article on the Scottish scene, and some correspondence with the 1320 club.

The Grille material relates to an attempt made to develop a progressive movement rooted in religion; there is an initial Manifesto, enfolded in a copy of Grille (the Irish Christian Left) issue 2, with inputs from Conor Cruise O'Brien, Terence McCaughey, Hubert Butler and others, and a copy of Derry Kelleher's 'Republicanism, Christianity and Marxism'.

Relating to the Grille project, and to the Kelleher publication, we have some Teilhard Reviews: Vol 1 #1 has the 'Christian-Marxist encounter; Vol #2 has analysis of the Teilhard world vision. Vol 2 #1 has analysis of the entropy concept; the foregoing have comments on the Irish initiative; Vol 2 #2 and Vol 3 #1 appear to have abandoned the Irish concern, and this probably is the reason for the sequence being discontinued.

Pamphlets from the 1960s period are in tied folder F3, grouped in envelope folders:
