Ian Campbell Ross is Professor of Eighteenth-Century Studies in the School of English, Trinity College Dublin. His new edition of Laurence Sterne’s The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman was published earlier this month by Oxford University Press. He has recently co-edited two early Irish novels: Vertue Rewarded; or, The Irish Princess (1693) and Sarah Butler’s Irish Tales (1716) for publication early next year in a new series, ‘Early Irish Fiction, 1680-1820’, of which he is Co-general Editor.
